Muhyiddin and his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, flew in to the Penang international airport at 8.25 am and were greeted by Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Tasek Gelugor MP and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop and other state BN leaders.
The deputy prime minister is scheduled to attend three closed-door meetings, with Penang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman, the State Umno Liaison Committee, and State BN leaders.
Muhyiddin and Norainee are scheduled to attend a 1Malaysia lunch with the people in Kampung Permatang Tepi, Simpang Empat, Balik Pulau, near here.
The deputy prime minister is also scheduled to launch a programme on the enhancement of the professionalism of educators in Penang at Universiti Sains
Malaysia (USM) here.
Meanwhile, Noorainee is scheduled to attend two separate events, one of which is a breakfast meeting with leaders of Puspanita and the Penang Women's
Institute at Anjung Indah, Balik Pulau, and the other, a meeting with the fishermen women's growth centre in Kampung Pulau Betong, Balik Pulau.
Muhyiddin and Norainee are scheduled to return to Kuala Lumpur in the evening. - Bernama
